What’s new in Events Planner Lite v1.3.2

29 November

Events Planner lite version 1.3.2 has just been released.  It is available for download from the Plugin Repository.

Here is a list of things in this version.

1) Confirmation Emails

Event Registration Confirmation Emails

After the registration is complete, the ticket buyer and the site administrator will receive an email confirmation. It will contain all the information that the registrant sees on the final thank you page (the event details, registration form responses and payment details). In the upcoming pro version, you will have access to a notification manager, which will let you construct your own custom email content.

2) Date and Time Formatting

Event Date and Time Format
For our international users, Events Planner will now use your WordPress settings for date and time formatting.    If you already have events running in the US date format and would like to use this feature, please go to the event editor, change the event dates/times into your date and time formats and save.  This feature is still in beta so please let us know if you encounter any issues.

3) Other

  • Added a function to prevent users from proceeding if they have not selected a date or a quantity.
    [custom_frame_center shadow="on"]
    Missing Quantity Error
  • Added Organization Email, can be accessed using get_the_organization_email() template tag.
  • Fixed the slashes on form labels.
  • Better data sanitizer.
  • Various minor bug fixes.

If you find Events Planner working to your satisfaction, please give us 5 stars on Plugin Repository Page. Also, many thanks to all those who made a donation. We have invested a lot of efforts in creating this plugin and any help from you is greatly appreciated!

    International dates work OK

      Thanks Bart.

There is actually a small issue with the Recurrence Helper that I will address in the next version. Strtotime php function can’t process “d/m/Y” format and I put a check in place for that specific date format (looks like I missed it in the recurrence helper). For php programmers out there, if you encounter this in your projects, the remedy is to convert “d/m/Y” into “d-m-Y” or “d.m.Y” before feeding into strtotime.

      Thanks, Abel

Having problems with the events planner on PHP 5.4. The plugin has had to be disabled on all of our sites because of the Call-time pass-by-reference deprecation. We cannot go back to and earlier version of PHP because we have multiple client applications that now need 5.4.

The errors we have seen are:
PHP Fatal error: Call-time pass-by-reference has been removed in [web-root on all sites]/wp-content/plugins/events-planner/system/epl-util.php on line 1145

    This I fixed locally

PHP Fatal error: Call-time pass-by-reference has been removed in [web-root on all sites]/wp-content/plugins/events-planner/application/models/epl-common-model.php on line 699

Haven’t been able to fix this one yet, which has caused me to disable the plugin. One of our sites uses EPL-Pro, this is giving the same problems.

      Hi Len.

Please remove the & in front of $_v on line 699 in the Lite version.

As far as the Pro, which version are you using? I am running PHP 5.4.7 on my localhost and do not get that error.

      Thanks, Abel

Week ago I have asked for your permission to translate your Events Planner plugin in Spanish and I didn’t hear any from you since. I hope that you will find time to provide the reply, because we believe that the translation would be of a great use.

    All the best,

    Andrew Kurtis

      Hi Andrew.

Terribly sorry for the late reply. I have been very busy with the Pro v2.

Translations are available and work only in the Pro version. Spanish is already available. If you would like to use it for a non-profit organization, please get in touch and I will get you a discount.

      Thanks, Abel
